Nathan Mortier, Esq.

Nathan Mortier, Esq. is an attorney with Mellette PC, specializing in health care regulatory law.

Mr. Mortier advises health care clients on a wide range of issues, including state and federal regulatory compliance, transactions, Certificate of Public Need applications, third-party payment, facility licensing, and professional board disciplinary actions. He also counsels clients in a variety of other areas, such as guardianships and conservatorships, wills, powers of attorney, and advance directives.

Mr. Mortier earned his bachelor's degree in History from Hillsdale College in Hillsdale, Michigan. He received his Juris Doctorate from the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. While in law school, Mr. Mortier served as an Articles Editor for the William & Mary Law Review, assisted in faculty research as a Graduate Research Fellow, and worked as a Teaching Assistant in the Legal Skills Program. Mr. Mortier also held a number of other leadership positions in law school associations and participated in a community-based tutoring program. Prior to joining Mellette PC, Mr. Mortier interned with the Indian Health Service, federal and state prosecutors, and the Virginia Department of Health Professions.

Mr. Mortier is a member of the American Bar Association, the Virginia State Bar, the American Health Lawyers Association, and the Williamsburg Bar Association. He is licensed to practice in all Virginia courts and Federal District Court for both the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia. He lives in Williamsburg with his wife, Jennifer, and their daughter.
